Nobody on here can offer medical advice, that would not be safe. If you want to discuss this with someone other than your GP why not ring the BLF nurses during office hours on 03000 030 555?

Don't worry about getting the site right - it can have a mind of it's own at times. If you want to get rid of some of your false starts, click on the little arrow next to the 'like' box and it will come up with a choice, one of which is delete.

Hope you have a good day. Perhaps phone the BLF helpline about those steroids?? Sue xxx

I am new to the sit also. I am learning so much from all of you. I hope to remain on the site, my COPD is causing me problems with breathing the last week or so. I have an appointment with pulminary Dr. October 11, to review my meds. I really feel like the breathing treatments are causing me to shake. Albuteral is main one I suspect. Please forgive my spelling not so good. Thanks to all of you.

bjmos in reply to Six1

I was Taking smbicort two times a day but dr took me off and prescribed breathing treatments. I have appt in Oct to see pulminary specialist. Can't get to see specialists here for several months. I have a broken bone in my spine that prevents me from pulminary rehab.

I cannot have surgery due to COPD There is a Dr here that carterizes the nerves but he has a 3 month waiting period. thanks for your response

Hello Deb,

It's good to hear from you and thanks for telling us a little about your family. Good children getting you off the weed. I bet they are happy now for you and for themselves, and I bet you are feeling good if it is two years since. Maybe you have been strong and put the money saved away - I promised myself that but it didn't last :-)

Have good evening.

Hi Six1 and welcome to the board. It's so hard to stop smoking, I struggled like hell to stop but, the relief of not worrying I was making myself worse, was worth it. xx

Six1 in reply to casper99

@casper Thanks it's a everyday struggle but every time I look at this big oxygen machine and portable machine and breathing machine I say can't smoke don't wanna BLOW UP

casper99 profile image
casper99 in reply to Six1

I don't blame you. It's testimony to how addictive nicotine is when you hear of people who actually do smoke with oxygen. Madness!!! xx

I have 5 grand children ages 12, 8,7, and two that are 3. My youngest daughter just lost one last month at 14 weeks. It was very tough. I am not on any mesds as of yet drum my lung doctor accept a Cpap for sleep apnea and an inhaler.
