Kindness from strangers.

I was dropped off in town by husband, altho feeling really unwell could hardly stand with pain let alone walk, whilst my better half did super market shop. I nearly wrecked a Bulgarian dressmaker's shop by leaning on her very unstable counter. She was so nice about it. Went into the market for Christmas sweets - the stall holder said he had missed me and knocked down the price substantially - put some in the RNLI box - they do such a brave job. Went into Superdrug to replace my husband's reading glasses - couldn't bend down to the bottom of the stand. Lovely assistant found replacement pair and then to my astonishment replaced them free of charge as the originals were faulty. I did explain it might have been another branch, but it was OK. Finally, a lovely young Nepalese woman gave me a substantial discount on a stocking filler pashmina. Spent twenty minutes having a lovely chat with her. So although I didn't manage to walk back to the car I had a lovely hour so much in contrast to the other day in the supermarket. Just thought it wasnice to say there still lovely thoughtful people around Kaye.

Kathiesue thank you for this heartwarming post - we seem to be bombarded with awful news stories; your experience reminds us that there far more good people in the world.

Hi Kaye, that's a lovely story. Just shows there are still kind people in this world.

You were brave to venture out when you didn't feel good but I bet you now feel the benefit of going.

It's great to get out & see the world! I'm off shopping with 3 of my daughters & 2 of my grandaughters this afternoon. I'm really looking forward to it!

Take care 🌻

Malcolm! How could you even think that!!!

We have had sleety rain today & it's quite cold. It's too wet for snow to lie but there's snow on the high ground here.

Yes I do drive but have not been doing so for a few months since being out of hospital in March. My mobility is not back to normal yet so I've not risked getting behind the wheel. I just get chauffeured around everywhere! ( no sarky comments now! ) 😂😂

It always makes me feel as if someone's lifted a weight off my shoulders when someone is pleasant and helpful, it's so unexpected it's almost like being given a present........it might only be a moment or two of their time, but somehow it can brighten up a whole day.

Yep...sounds lovely. I like this "odds and ends" kind of a shop too....as opposed to the "get everything or bust" from the supermarket which has me gritting my teeth and wanting to scream. Will be doing huge online job for christmas. We have steps at the front of the house though and cant, for shame, allow one poor driver to have to carry everything up. Try and co-ordinate with daughters so there's a load of us here. Get everything - crates of milk, bags dog biscs, washing powder, loo rolls etc etc. All the BORING stuff! Ha ha ha Sorry, completely sidetracked your post.... the kindness of people. You had a total winner today. Wonderful! x piggi

When we are feeling ill or just low, little kindnesses mean so much, and the opposite applies too, the thoughtless ones who bump into you and nearly knock you off your feet, and just rush on make you feel so down.
