Does anyone know if there is a limit as to how many times a day you can use a nasal rinse, and could it cause more problems x

Speaking for myself I use a 200 ml nasal rinse twice a day....in the am (early) and in the evening before I go to bed. I am not aware of any problems that can be caused if you rinse more frequently, after all it is only saline. That being said there are probably limits, if only to you pocket to affording the ingredients of the sterile saline solution.

Hi, I use a yoga form of nasal rinse and there is no limit to amount of rinses I can use. It would be great of more people could try it and use it. It can be very helpful. Enjoy the sunshine eh?

Hi carolg1, my ENT specialist told me I could rinse up to 10 times per day so really there is not limit. I also use an acupuncture method of clearing sinuses as follows: press every toe (not the big toes) three times morning and night. It worked for me and I now do it automatically. Good luck Maximonkey

Hi Carolg1, I also tried Sterimar from all good Chemists. It is more expensive than making your own nasal mix but it works and is not unpleasant. Do you have allergies, because if you do I can help with some tips for those too. Good luck with the acupuncture. Maximonkey

Hi carolg1, ok the yoga nasal washout is called Jala Neti and you will need a Neti pot, the Nosebuddy one which has enough pressure behind it when it is full. So the saline/water mix goes in one nostril and out the other. We drain afterward to ensure the sinuses are empty, otherwise it is painful. Tell me about your nasal rinse please?

Hi PollyP, Thanks for the info, I use nell Med plastic bottle which is similar except you tilt your head forward and just squeeze liquid saline solution up one nostril and it comes out of the other one, its very effective and not in anyway painful, stay well xx Carol

trouble is- I have just found out that I have an osteoma ( bone growth) in my nostril. I fell on my nose as a child playing leapfrog- it comes back to haunt you! 20 years of sinus problems causing pseudomonas/pneumonia in chest for the last 8 months. I don't think the mix will go from one nostril to the other
