Why is it only emphysema and chronic bronchitis that is under the umbrella of COPD and not other lung problems such as asthma and pulmonary fibrosis.

Hi Peta. I read something about the reasons for that 2 or 3 months ago but I can't remember where. If it comes to mind I will let you know.

My mates all called me Joe 90 when I was young because of my fashionable (then) horn rimmed glasses. At the moment I am 70 and I never hide it. lol

I believe it is do with reversibility .asthma is, emphysema is not.
Of course asthma can also be chronic.

The medical profession classify asthma as an allergic condition which COPD isn't.
