Thank you all so much for your messages of support. I am overwhelmed by it.

The service went off perfectly. It was very moving and we all shed a few tears. It was great to see my Manchester counsins who turned up with their families as well. As I said to one of my cousins we only seem to meet these days for weddings and funerals! I plan to go and visit my oldest friend in Stockport soon. I am thinking of moving back up north. Would love to meet up with any of you who live that way. Pm me if you want to meet up....

I am relieved its all over and we can all move on now. I will greatly miss my mum but am happy she is in a better place now. I hope she finds her summer garden with all her loved ones.

Thanks again all of you.

Lots of love Bev xxx

Glad it went well Bev, I remember such a sense of relief that my mum didn't have to go through the hell that her life had become, in fact, we were all a bit giddy after the funeral, I think we all felt the same way. Still miss her every day, nearly 19 years, hard to believe. Libby xxx

Thanks Libby. I think you always miss a loved one but the secret is coming to terms with it so you can carry on in life isn't it? I do believe that you meet your loved ones when your time comes anyway.

I am glad to see you blog today Bev. You were in my thoughts yesterday, but I'm pleased to hear you had the support of your extended family to help you through this trial.

Please, take time to grieve for your mum, and once you're through this bereavement period, maybe then look at relocation. Making hasty decisions at this time isn't something I'd recommend. Give yourself time to heal first.

However, that being said, you are a strong minded woman, and you'll make your own decision :) It goes without saying, you'll find the support you need here.

Hiya Sandra thank you so much for your lovely remarks. The support I get from you any my other mates is fantastic. It does really help. I felt your thoughts yesterday!

I think I have done most of my mum grieving when she was alive. I only moved to Torquay to see my family more specially my parents. I always said when they are both gone I would move back up north which I still think of as my home. So its not a hasty decision.

I might even be able to get a season ticket to see my beloved football team - Man Utd! :)

I have thought of you all day. I am glad there were positives and that you can move forward without too much grief. The idea of the summer garden is a lovely one. xx

Thank you Toci. I kept telling my mum to imagine that she was in a lovely garden with the sun shining down and all her loved ones with her including her pets. Not my dad though! I made the mistake of telling her years ago that she would meet dad there - her response? I ........ well hope not!

Good to know your cousins are able to share this time with you Bev.

If only I lived in your area, or further north - should you decide to move at some stage, I.d be only to pleased to meet up.

However, we're all here for you in this community and you will be in our thoughts.

I have missed my mum since she died even though she was an old bugger. When I told her I was going out with a divorcee with 3 kids she said to me "Oh our Bob, you do get yourself in some messes.". I had been a model son all my life! I laugh now but I do miss the cantankerous old sod. You will miss yours too but nothing can hurt her now.

Lots of love from Bobby xxxx

I am pleased that your mother's funeral went off well as it did. Obviously decisions to be made at the right time. All my very best wishes and love from Annieseedxxxx

I too am glad that you had your family with you and that service went well. A summer garden is a lovely thought.

Thanks for letting us know. Glad it went well xxxxxx

Yeah it was a moving service. We managed to get her favourite music in and the reflective one was - We'll meet again by Vera Lynne. My suggestion coz she loved that song.

My youngest sister did the eulogy. We went out to Jim Reeves - don't forget me.

We got a pub to do the catering and it wasn't cheap! But the food was fantastic. I snaffled loads of fresh salmon and prawns (I can't usually afford to buy either). We all took doggie bags away too. I'm having the last of mine for my tea. I ate so much I could barely move!

Me and my middle sister - I live in upstairs flat and she downstairs, went over to our local church today for the flower festival (which her and mum used to go to) and had a cream tea. We lit a candle for mum and said a prayer. It was very soothing.
