‘Prolapse of pulmonary valve cusp leading to a large coaptation’may be significant’.

Your pulmonary valve has three leaflets that meet to close the valve. They are also called cusps. (Some people only have two, but if the report didn't mention bicuspid then we'll assume you have 3.)

Prolapse means that one of them has gotten too floppy and is billowing out when closing.

Large coaptation means that because of this billowing the three leaflets no longer fit together tightly. This might result in regurgitation, though I'd think they would mention that if they saw it.

Regurgitation can be classed as trivial, mild, moderate or severe.

Surgery for the mitral valve is indicated at severe regurgitation with symptoms, or severe regurgitation with left ventricular hypertrophy. I was in the later camp; I progressed from mild to severe with LVH over 20 years and then had surgery to repair my mitral valve and replace my aortic valve.

I don't know if the treatment plan for the pulmonary valve is significantly different or not.
