Hi Sammy, I'm not sure you will get the professional answers that you are probably looking for on here but totally understand why you have reached out, Have you considered reaching out to British Heart Foundation nurses? I've copied a link and pasted it below this will take you directly to the contact page. Hopefully they will be able to offer the guidance you are seeking

Hi there Sammy. Each case is unique and there is no clear answer to your question. Myself I went down to 12% ef and there was nothing they could do. I prayed and asked for more time with my children. That was 2020. I managed to recovery after a while then on entresto my ef improved up to 44% then back down to 35% where it settled for a few years. I was on track. Symptoms slowly started to improve except chest pains. I had another child with a new partner. Recently though my ef has dropped to 29%. I am hoping it's just some fluctuation or because of the lazy winter months but if it's a 7% decline, then at this rate I wouldn't have long. So now they are going to fit a ICD.

Anyways. I think all heart conditions are very serious. It's not like many other organs or tissues where they can be easily replaced and fixed. But science is getting better every year. Your ef of 40% is still pretty good. It's when it drops below 35% is when they talk about other treatments like ICDs etc. So for now your meds are probably doing their thing of slowing the progression of heart failure.

I understand it's tough to get quick answers from the experts as they are so overwhelmed. I have been told to message on here for general answers off the people who are in the same boat. But for specific answers it maybe best to speak to the British heart foundation themselves as they have medical experts ready to answer questions and provide support.

I have older teens and a young toddler so i understand exactly how hard it is especially when your experiencing scary chest pains or symptoms alike. Palpitations etctect. The best thing i did was walking. Walking as much as you can each day. Anyways I wish you all the best. X

Hi Garagegirl, you are only 35 years old with children. You must get a CRT-D (cardiac resynchronisation Therapy Defibrillator) or equivalent to your specific heart failure. My EF was 35 and 2 years later it’s gone up to 54! I feel so much better. You definitely need a device fitted. Hope they deal with it quickly for you x
