Than you all for reading my previous posts and responding to them too.

The truth is I'm still coming to terms with the last couple of months and the immense amount of fluid I had accumulated, along with a difficult hospital stay.

In 18 days I have lost 32% body weight = 37 kg, 5st 11lb .

I'm now 1 week home and adjusting to the new norm.

Although I have been put on a pathway for General cardiology clinic, I know todate that referral has not yet been made.

I have not been referred to the HF service, as I am waiting to be assigned a cardiologist and appointment

I'm trying to remain calm and focused but my reality is I feel abandoned and left with little support.

I'm digging deep , trying to do my best in a difficult situation.

Hi Linda,

So sorry to hear all that you’ve been and are continuing to go through. It’s such an emotional time, when you don’t feel great, just need answers and explanations quickly and they aren’t necessarily forthcoming.

Firstly, you could try contacting one of the B.H..F Nurses here, who may be able to explain what may possibly be going on with the right side of your heart and what the next steps are likely to be for you - whilst you await to hear from a Cardiologist.

I know you shouldn’t have to, but if you’re able, you can self refer to see a Cardiologist privately. If you select one that works out of your local hospital, they will be able to access your previous records. They can then coordinate your care and refer you back to the N.H.S if necessary.

I don’t know if anyone here has suggested looking at the ‘Pumping Marvellous’ Foundation website and Facebook group? It’s aimed at H.F patients and those that are caring for loved ones with the condition. There’s plenty of helpful info on there and you can post your concerns on the F.B page and will receive lots of helpful advice / support from others who are walking in your shoes. It was recommended to me by my Dad’s H.F team.

I hope you hear something soon. Take care. ❤️‍🩹

Hi, Thank you for your reply.

Alas, I'm not financially able to see a cardiologist privately.

I did speak to a BHF nurse who helped me as much as she could.

I phoned the HF team at the hospital I was discharged from and spoke with a nurse, who told the my referral for a cardiologist has not been made by the relevent person. They have however stated they would send an email to the cardiology secretary to get this facilitated .

The BHF nurse, like you pointed me to Pumping Marvelous Foundation website. Call me old fashioned , I don't have a Facebook account 😊

I've always said knowledge is power and through my own tenacity and the wonderful, knowledgeable supporting comments I am receiving from this wonderful community I remain informed and forever hopeful.

🙏💕😘

Pumping Marvellous also has a website with a contact no. and an email address. They have lots of helpful guides and info on there. Might be worth a call?

Take care.

Don't be afraid to reach out to your GP for help with the mental side of things. I found anti-depressants hugely beneficial.

Keep strong. You can do this.
