Anyone with a pacemaker had body massages and did you feel it was safe? Obviously I wouldn’t want my chest massages but I wonder if the pressure on a back massage might also not be a good idea?
Thank you for any feedback.

I have them andmade sure to check with my HF nurse beforehand, who advised me that I was ok to as long as the massage was not near my device and was gentle. I always mention my this to the masseuse beforehand too.
A professional masseur/masseuse should ask before treatment about any heart procedure and medications and may seek a note from one's GP giving approval. I don't have a pacemaker, but my anti-coagulant means I need to be careful about a deep massage. On my neighbourhood forum we frequently get people offering massage (of the respectable type), and I wonder how many are trained, qualified and have indemnity insurance.
Hi HattyHedgehog, I think you will find a health spa won't do a massage (for instance purposes) unless you obtain approval from your GP which he won't do. If you have fluid retention, a massage can move that towards your heart. I do miss my massages, but better to be safe. Best wishes.
