On October 17th 2023 I had my aortic valve replaced at Morriston hospital Swansea i was discharged on Thursday the 28th, on the 30th of October I was sitting watching TV with my wife having a coffee, the next thing I know my wife's on the phone trying to get an ambulance i was having seizures but was told it would be 6-7 hours before they could get to me and told if I went into cardiac arrest not to resuscitate me because they had cut through my sternum, luckily my sister and husband were able to get me to withybush hospital, I was having seizures in his car and the waiting room at A&E and still had to sit and wait for 2 hours, my brother in law was having to hold me on the seat, when I finally get to see the doctor my heart rate was 20 and dropping my brain was not getting much oxygen which is why I was having seizures, it turns out Morriston hospital had prescribed me to strong a medication for atrial fibrillation, and they discovered 2 liters of blood on top of my right lung so I had 2 more weeks in hospital one week in withybush and another at glangwylly hospital carmarthen where they drained the fluid off my lungs 🫁, anyway my symptoms didn't improve still extremely short of breath no energy and lots of pain. I had a 20mm fixed appature aortic valve replacement, I'm now 100% sure i have angina pain in my chest back throat and jaw. I'm 172 lbs ans was a fitness fanatic, another member on here who is only 120lbs has had a 23mm aortic valve replacement her symptoms have not improved and has been told her angina and other problems are because her valve is to small and restricting blood flow, I'm 52lbs heavier have a smaller aortic valve replacement but they won't admit it's to small and causing my angina and other symptoms. What do I do?

Hello :-)

Sounds like a very frightening experience you went through

The only thing I can suggest is ask for a second opinion

I hope you are feeling a little better

Happy Christmas :-) x
