Is ischeamic heart disease life limiting. I was hoping to get into our local day Hospice for some support, but they say I don't fit the criteria. I Don't get any support other than sites like these

Ischeamic heart disease
Are you not being supported by the Cardiac Rehab' Team? I had my HA and stents in May, but I'm still under Cardiac Rehab'.
I have had it for over 10 years now with 3 stents too along with other problems such as CKD you cannot do what you may have been capable before. However taking things at your own pace really helps have your GTN spray with you at all times. Good exercise helps too. The main thing is to understand and accept your limits other than that you can enjoy everything as you did before I find. By the way I also have terminal pulmonary fibrosis but it's progression has been slowed by good easy excircise. The most important thing is not to let your illness define you or who your are....Good luck

it’s a good idea to see a doctor or nurse at your surgery once a year for a check up. If this hasn’t happened, ring the surgery and ask. They will probably want a blood test first.
And in answer to your first question. My husband was diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease 22 years ago and is living a full and active life.
i have ischemic heat disease. I go to day centre daily during the week. Seems your staff aren’t trained to deal with people with health problems.
As I understand it ischaemic heart disease is another term for coronary heart disease which I would imagine affects many people on here to varying degrees, for example from those who just take meds to better manage their lipid profile and possibly have some form of undetected arteriosclerosis, which was me before I had my NSTEMI, to those who have survived a serious heart attack and/or those who are heavily stented. So in short there are varying degrees of this condition and it affects everyone differently and their life expectancy. I have been taking statins for over 25 years, BP tabs for nearly 25 years, and as I said I had an NSTEMI nearly 7 years ago, and I have blocked coronary arteries which the cardio people say are best left untouched, but my CHD does not impact on my life at all, and I am sure there are many more like me. So Alfie33 if your question is posted because it is how you are currently feeling, if you are doing the all the right things by taking medication and life style measures as you are able, but still feel troubled, I suggest you talk to your GP to seek guidance, which used to be what they are there for, and indeed hopefully still are. In the meantime just take every day as it comes and try to make the best of what you have as I and others try to do. Certainly having special interests or hobbies as I have can help your state of mind. Finally one of my aunts had several heart attacks and had other medical conditions which could have weighed her down but she lived well into her 90s and was a jolly soul with it.
I was diagnosed with heart disease after a heart attack at 49. I had a triple bypass at 57. I have done proper cycling since 24. Now at 60 I can do 95% of what I could do in my 30s. So, for me it's not affected anything really. I could just drop dead tomorrow though but that applies to anybody really.
