There are many reasons why you can be breathless, including respiratory and cardio related conditions. I suggest you make an appointment with your GP and discuss it with him/her, rather than people on here making educated guesses as to the problem.

There are ways to improve your sleep, such as the right temperature in the room, breathing exercises, the right curtains to keep the bedroom dark, your age, not having a TV in the room…. Lots of ways to help yourself.

I had a similar situation with an issue that revolved around my heart, and I was exhausted but couldn't quite go under into a sleep pattern.
It will be very difficult to get an exact answer, I think it might be to do with the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous symptoms being in overdrive. (Just a hunch)
I eventually resolved my issue and now I am fine.
Many Beta blockers interfere with sleep , metaprolol and nebivolol gave me insomnia, different beta blockers have the same affect in other people, or in some people no side effects are present

You might find a anti depressant called mirtazapine might help. Gives you a good night sleep and helps in other ways. If your ejection fraction below 40% , entresto should help breathlessness. Get a echocardiagram and checked out. Depends a lot on your individual condition. Did you ever smoke etc as might be copd. Only your cardiologist can advise
