Supraventricular tachycardia

Hello years ago when I was 21 I started getting episodes of fast heart rate and was diagnosed with supraventicular tachycardia but have only took beta blockers for the past 6 or 7 years. Recently I've also been diagnosed with sinus tachycardia. I get chest pains everyday and palpitations and sometimes the pains spread to my upper back, jaw, left arm especially. I also feel lightheaded and breathless and dizzy. Sometimes my lips turn blue. I'm just wondering does anyone else have the symptoms with these type of tachycardias please? Thank you x

I get chest pains, palpitations and cyanosis (blue lips) with NSVT and the impression from my cardiologist is that isn’t out of the ordinary.

If you are under a cardiologist it might be worth a review. And if not it might be worth speaking with your GP about a referral to cardiology.

I was diagnosed 7 years ago but suspect I’ve had it a lot longer. I was started on beta blockers which became less effective over time. Episodes became more frequent and I experienced breathlessness and chest discomfort particularly when walking. I went back to cardiology and had an ablation in September. It wasn’t successful as an area was too near the AV node to ablate so they have started me on Flecainide. I’ve been on it a week and my heart feels much calmer. I would go back to your cardiologist for a review. Not quick in the UK, it’s taken me a year to get to this point from referral.
