Has anyone stopped Diltiazem cold turkey? Prescribed 240mg/day Diltiazem for angina.
Pain now gone after recent stenting and would like to stop the Diltiazem. will discuss with my doctor, but would like to get the group experience on this.

I use Diltiazem for my angina. I did miss a few days in taking them and felt horrible afterwards. Had angina pains and anxiety, but eventually felt much better after taking them. I would go to my GP or check with my cardiologist before going cold turkey. You could also contact the BHF nurses if you are worried about it.
Good luck.
Never advisable to go cold Turkey. You need to get professional advice. ❤
I was on Diltiazem for angina but had a few unpleasant side effects so stopped it. The angina got slightly worse but Isosorbide Mononitrate coped with the angina. not quite as well but without the side effects. I had no discernable withdrawal symptoms. The Isosorbide Mononitrate was stopped when I had a quadruple bypass and again no discernable withdrawal symptoms. As we are all different chat with your GP first as he will know which arteries are affected by disease and which were stented.
