My cardiac consultant recommended Apple Watch to me and cardiac nurse told me the ECG function was being evaluated by NHS with a view to issuing to some patients as self monitoring devices.
I agree completely. I upgraded to the latest watch after being diagnosed with a prolapsed mitral valve at the start of the year. The data showed to the day when my heart rate radically changed - fascinating stuff.
The ECG function currently doesn’t work in the UK although rumours suggest it may go on in September. Let’s hope it does.
The other function that’s really great is the falls detection. If you fall and dont respond to the watch it will alert emergency services of your location and will also contact your emergency contacts with the same information. Brilliant stuff.
my finances ran to a fitbit charge 3 lol.. gives heart rate.. number of steps.. km walked.. fat burned and a few other interesting things... lowest resting HR has been 42.. but concerned with highest HR .. which was 108! after walking less than a hundred yards.. another thing that has me slightly concerned.. when resting HR has a few times seemed to soar from 54 up to 100.. without any exertion.. maybe i shouldn’t check it so often lol
