Mitral valve repair

Hi guys ..it's been 7 months since my open heart surgery for mitral valve repair and just had my echo check and told there is some regurgitation in my repaired mitral valve. Obviously l am disappointed with this but was told by echo operator it's common to have a small leak after a repair or replacement of the mitral valve. I am still waiting for the final results but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this worrying outcome after their echo exam. 🤔

Hi.I had my mitral valve repair nearly 3 years ago. Had annual echocardiogram, all show mild/moderate leak, told that it's quite usual. Not particularly worried about it, but the best part about it is that now that we are "on the books" we have the experts looking after us regularly. People who have never been diagnosed could possibly be a lot worse.🙂

Well that's reassuring, l expected the leak to be totally stopped but hoping when l get letter in a weeks time the leak will be minor and no further treatment needed.
