My son had open heart surgery and they left a needle inside of his chest.i tried to make a claim because he didnt die after i was told no.I think this is medical negligence it happend 8 years ago now.in my mind tbeyve gor away with it

You may already know this, but if you read within the link below there is a time limit on medical negligence of 3 years with some exceptions concerning minors (<18 years old), mental health or where substantial harm - physical, emotional or financial - can be proven. In some cases the 3 years is from the date of discovery. Although you have told us it is 8 years since this happened, and assuming you have not done so already, it might be worth you discussing your son's case with a solicitor specialising in medical claims to establish whether there is any possibility of you and/or your son still being able to pursue the claim and whether it is likely to succeed.

Sorry about my fingers touching other keys..he was 15 now 23 i think its too late..but il try one more time i need to find somone good who really knows what they are talking about.The needle is still in his chest as timw ticked by and they had to close him up..wasnt until they x rayed him they found it after searching the theatre..this was at Guys in London i was mortified tbat i handed my son over to their care and this happened..

Thank you so much..i did try to do something as i was horrified what happened to my son at Guys.I thought this was a hospital of integrity.I was spiken to by the head of cardiology he made me feel stupid i was making somethibg out of nothing!! Of course they would say that the head of nursing turned against me in the room after telling me it should never of happened.

OMG. If the needle is still in his chest, l would pursue this. You have nothing to lose. This is absolutely outrageous and they should admit their mistake. Your son is living proof. Go for it.

Yes still inside they x ray him to make sure it hasnt moved..i find it totally bizarre loosing a what looked like a fishing hook..ok well you have spurred me on il send an email tomorrow to the abpve..i e just not long come out of hos with kidney stones!!
