Hello All, I am due my follow up appointment with the surgeon on Friday, post aortic Valve Replacement in July. Anyone any ideas of what I should expect please? Just a chat with surgeon or any tests? 🤔

After my private TAVI at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, I had a check-up after three weeks: an ECG, a stethoscope check and a brief chat (at a cost of some £750😬). I now have occasional checks on the NHS, to save money and the trek to Oxford and so my cardiology care can be in the same hospital as my haematology care.

Thank you Taviterry, I did have to chase for this follow up appointment , as I have post op Atrial fibrillation I felt it was necessary.

I had mine at Papworth. Similar to pre-op but a smaller tick list . Bloods, ecg, chest x ray from memory. Didn’t see consultant (although that’s what the letter said) just one of his registrars. Was an hour or so in total. Signed off back to my local cardiac department.

My recognition of your anxiety for information. My experience (after a dodgy TAVI ) is to be given an echo cardio gram and. Electronic monitoring before a reassuring Consiltant Chat.

Hope all goes well for you

Thank you! I fear I won’t get an echocardiogram, which would be reassuring, we will see. I do thrive on information, I guess others don’t 🤔
