If a narrowed heart valve is diagnosed and a coronary angiogram is needed- can they open the heart valve during the angiogram without having to insert a new valve?

Narrowed heart valve
An angiogram is only a non-invasive x-ray: bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...
I have read that stents can be placed during the coronary angiogram if needed.
I don't think the coronary angiogram or femoral artery angiogram involve going in the heart valve itself. You really do need to talk to the doctor and ask loads of questions about what is happening.
sounds like your stenosis is building up ??
I hope so, as this would be a specific and cureable issue.
I do not raise queries with the Doctor. The idea of writing a list of queries does not appeal to me. I ask one question….what can I do to help you doctor.
That goes down well. And it means the doctor can doctor rather than answer queries.
In any case I wouldn’t know the relevance of answers to the queries.
I had stenosis. Mild at first, then three years on moderate then one year on severe. I had three tests, a lung function, a hand held scan and a angiogram. Then I had the open heart surgery to replace the stenosed valve. Magic. Wonderful. The medical staff gave me my life back.
The angiogram was not as bad as I had been lead to believe. Lengthy but not painful. The lung function and the hand held scans were both painless.
Best wishes for Wednesday.

Hi Goodner1947
They still dodo angiograms I am currently waiting for an appointment. It’s no invasive they can put stents in while checking your arteries.
I would advise call the cardio respiratory and get advice about the procedure I have angina a Cardiac nurse specialist call me last week to explain it all.
Good luck Hel52.
Do you mean narrowed artery? If so, yes, I had a stent in my LAD at the time of the angiogram.
