Private cardiac rehab - Epsom area

I had a STEMI 8 weeks ago and had a telephone assessment appointment for cardiac rehabilitation today. I had high expectations of the appointment - particularly the opportunity to talk about ongoing symptoms/side effects and a date to start the program. I was very disappointed to discover that the appointment didn't really cover time to talk about side effects/symptoms and that due to high demand I wouldn't be able to start the program until Nov/Dec or even January! It's no one's fault - just volume of work and unrealistic expectations from my side. The nurse suggested I start working through the level 1 rehab exercises on YouTube which I will do but I'm also keen to explore the possibility of private cardiac rehab programmes and wondered if anyone on here had ever attended one in the Epsom area. ( I could travel out as far as Guildford or in towards London) I would prefer a to explore something others had found useful and would want to be sure it was run by proper qualified staff. Do let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hi, I did cardiac rehab last year in Epsom. I had a Pacemaker fitted in the June and had to wait till the September to start Cardiac Rehab but I found it well worth the wait. After the 10 week course free on the NHS I was then given the opportunity to go on to Phase 4 but this is private although still based at the same location. I decided to carry on to Phase 4 and I am still going regularly every week and can thoroughly recommend.

The YouTube videos on cardiac rehab put on there by the British Heart Foundation are exactly what they do when you go to the outpatients rehab clinic at the hospital so I would start with them, levels so you can build up at your own pace 👍

Thank you both. I think I just had such high expectations re the telephone assessment and thought it would be a much broader more holistic assessment with time to really talk through a variety of things. I've heard from friends how good the rehab is at Epsom so I'll start the level 1 videos and wait my turn. It's been a long and difficult 8 weeks with little progress and I'm just getting a bit desperate for some help, support and guidance.
