blood tests

Good morning Everyone, I was diagnosed with Heart Failure three years ago (30 EF) but after being put on Entresto and five other meds my last scan showed that my EF had improved and was at 60. I was dismissed into GP care, to stay lifelong on the meds about a year ago. I have seen my doctor, at my request, once since my release from hospital and not now for three years. I spoke to the practise pharmacist, also around a year ago, re my concerns regarding the long term effects of the meds. At first I booked regular blood tests myself then had a yearly review this past January by a nurse, including a blood test. Should I still be booking tests in order for liver/kidney function to be monitored and if so, how often?

My case is very similar to yours. I was told to have blood tests every 6 months, which the surgery arranges for me.

surgeries all work different ways. Mine used to rely on the patient to tell them when the review was due but now they get in touch with us. They say. But as they are down from 12 docs in the practice to five, this doesn’t really happen!

So it’s up to the patient to get the review done.
