Try savasana (yoga corpse pose). Look it up. Or ear buds connected to your phone and listen to relaxing music at low volume. Plenty of it on the internet. I have the Buddhist chant OM on repeat on my phone. Plenty similar in YouTube e.g. like this

Hi Alfie sorry to hear you are having problems. I too suffer badly and have done for years it's brutal. Recently I have begun the Sleepio programme it's backed by NHS and free in some areas but not all unfortunately. I have just started but it is helping my attitude towards sleep and I do feel better. If not free in your area ask your GP they may be able to refer you. Good luck!

dear Alfie

I have had good results by using a tinnitus relaxer. Small electrical device costs about £35. It plays white noise overlaid with your choice of soothing sounds. I like the waves on a beach. After 20 minutes it turns itself off.

I also used it for relaxation during the day.

hi Alfie, when I was put on beta blockers I couldn’t sleep for more than a few hours and my dr prescribed an allergy medication, which can help some people sleep better, it had a sedative effect and I use it sparingly as I didn’t want to get too used to it. I’m not sure if I’m able to tell you the name but your pharmacist at your local chemist would be able to inform you if you’re able to take with any other medication you’re currently on. Promethazine hydrochloride , it doesn’t work for everyone but it’s available on prescription if you wanted to go through your dr to be safe. Hope this helps

I find Nytol original, not the herbal one, works well for me. Not for long term use but at least I get to break the "waking up at 2.30 am " cycle.

OK - here's a daft one for you to help you to "switch your brain off". Just think of random unconnected words. It sounds stupid but it works for me. Fairly soon, you just find words appearing and then you're asleep! :)

4-7-8 breathing technique. Try it for a few days. It works for me.

I note that you suffer from dizzy spells so make you are lying down when you try this.
