Hi, this is my first question, I had my HA five weeks ago and the hardest thing I have found is sleeping, cannot put it down to any particular thoughts
The last 2 nights I have managed 3 hours sleep each night
Tried Nytol- half the recommended dose but don't want to stay on them and it does say only use for 2 weeks
Any suggestions

Hi BurntOak, a psychiatrist that came to a support group we attended at Papworth recommended breathing exercises to aid relaxation & sleep. Breath in to the count of 4 & breath out to the count of 8, don't force yourself to reach those numbers & don't hold your breath whilst doing it. I'd recommend giving it a try, it does work
I second Lezzers suggestion. Same idea in for 7 out for11 count as fast as you like. I also find various mp3 relaxation offer help. Maybe look at Andrew Johnson if you like a Scottish voice . Lots of free ones on youtube as well,
My rehab. coach said do 4 inhale, 6 exhale so you slow your breathing to 6 breaths a minute, Good to do anytime you feel anxious. Also, I personally take liquid Magnesium bisglycinate before bed, I find it helps relax me.
