I had a TAVI at New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton on 4th July. After the op I was totally confused and had an episode similar but much longer than a migraine. Since then I have been having migraines nearly every day. Previous to my op I used to get about two or three migraines a year. Has anyone else experienced migraines after a TAVI?

MIGRAINES AFTER A TAVI
Hi. I can't offer advice on the procedure but wanted to say I remember from another thread you had been waiting for a bed in order to have your procedure for a while, so I'm pleased you have now had this. I have read a bit about the TAVI (purely out of interest because my boyfriends cardiologist is the director of the TAVI programme) & I've read some very positive things about it.
Also I do suffer from migraines, I have found that alongside my pain relief medication, the cold sticky head strips really help me so might be worth trying these.
migraines for me are linked to my blood flow. I take a blood thinner named Clopidogrel. I had to stop the tablets before the op and migraines started up. After the op I went back on the clopidogrel tablets and the migraines have stopped.
I wonder if your single extra bad migraine was a TIA.
Do advise your doctor that migraines are coming daily. Hopefully he will adjust your medication.

Twice, after angiograms I have had a migraine. When my vision started to play up I asked for paracetamol, was given it but no comment was made to me about it. I didn't think to ask why these would occur at these times. Incidentally, I had a very mild episode recently, the first for many years. (I get mainly visual disturbances, and if I take paracetamol straight away, the headache is very mild and doesn't last long.)
