breathless and fluid

hi

I haven’t posted for a while but recently I’m experiencing considerable bloating and breathlessness when doing tasks like making beds

my echo cardio gram in March showed EF at 55 - up from 30

I was discharged and told I was a mystery as they don’t know why my left central partially collapsed and couldn’t do the work

Its back to normal

my question is - will I always be at risk for HF and continue to experience symptoms

I am on entresto , spiro, beta blocker, aspirin , statin and I’m super vigilant about taking my meds

Entresto at night as well

any one had a similar experience

I take a furosimide when the listing happens as my wright goes up by three kgs in 24 hours - then it settles after I’ve got rid of the excess fluid

cheers

Hi walkswim

As you're probably already aware the bloating & breathlessness are probably due to fluid retention. 3kg weight gain overnight is a lot of gain which again indicates fluid.

You do need to let your medical team know this is happening as you may need your meds tweaking. Also you may need to have bloods taken to check your kidney function as furosemide can affect your kidneys.

Good luck, I hope you get it sorted quickly but if in doubt, always phone nhs111 for advice, fluid retention can be quite serious.

My lowest weight would be first thing in the morning before breakfast or a drink. The highest last thing at night . I would expect the difference in readings to be around 1kg. Then that would come off again by first thing next morning..

Would be interesting hear of other peoples weight fluctuation to know what is considered normal..
