Does no colour flow across intra atrial septum mean there is no asd or does it mean there is a shunt? Is it ruling out asd or is it saying there is a shunt?
The provider used the correct height and size which makes my results quite different from the nhs ones. In my favour to.
I paid 300 for echoecardiogram with the understanding they would break down the results for me and offer advice- they do not - it goes back to my awful GP to break down and offer clinical advice. I do not have trust in my GP after an awfull experience.
I'm quite confused. And because nobody appears to what to do the science to find out why I'm so poorly I'm navigating rather slowly by myself.

I'm sorry to hear the BHF nurses can't help, but not really surprised as your health history seems very complicated and involved, I hope you get answers soon though
I'm not sure if it's saying no asd - or if it's saying a part of my heart isn't getting the right blood flow? I don't have any credit until next Friday because I spent all my money on healthcare.
I will have to wait. Iv missed quite a few calls off of private number. Maybe it's somebody from the hospital.
I'm just trying to find a route to treatment but my symptoms are life changing.
Hi Displacedheart, Shunts fall into two categories Congenital and Iatrogenic (man made), of which there are different types. I have an Iatrogenic Atrial to Right Ventricle shunt, from surgery 11years ago. My blood flow is no longer natural between the heart and lungs.I'm surprised that a Cardiologist, private or not hasn't given you advice. Are you in the UK, from my experience GPs are unlikely to offer much other than refer you to NHS Cardiology.
Take a step back and go back to the provider and insist on clarity of the situation.
I paid for a private echo, and it did state they would give advice. But after I paid and had the scan they advise they can't give guidance because they don't have access to my records. So my GP needs to do it. My problems are with primary care impacting my specialist care so I tried to cut them out, unsuccessfully. 25th January my heart was found to be displaced into my left hemithorax (found assessing lung nodule) my GP is adamant that non of my conditions are severe enough to cause symptoms (mean while I suffer severely with symptoms changing my whole life) so iv been trying to advocate for myself. Leicester hospital wants to help and advised to get my go to refer me. But they won't.
And this is why I feel my care has been obstructive. I don't understand why other than cover up culture.
Your condition is what I have researched today trying to see if the sentence on the report is saying there's no asd or saying no blood flow to the intra atrial septum.
My bnp goes up with symptoms of severe head ache and severe cervical spine pain so it is quite possible it is one of the two conditions you are referring to.
From the responses I do believe my thought process is logical and I do now feel a little more confident in challenging my GP thank you for sharing your information that could very helpful..
My hearts been displaced into the hemithorax maybe that's caused it?
