Hello everyone,

Hi!Yes! My Angina is in my throat (before and after failed CABGx3 and then 4 stents) and I'm sure I get it in the roof of my mouth and back of my tongue. My cardiologist sarcastically said I should see an Ear, nose and throat specialist. I was furious. We know our own bodies!
Yep me too I have MVA and the angina manifests itself in my tongue, neck, jaw, upper back, arm etc
Sounds like your cardiologist has an issue with anything not on his radar ! Bit like a mechanic who can sort out a starter motor but no idea how a spark plug works !
Take care ☺️
I've had 3xCABG, but GP is starting to think about MVA. GTN doesn't, and never has, made a difference

Sometimes, someone can have both obstructed coronary arteries and a problem with how the blood vessels of the heart function, microvascular or vasospastic angina. The microvascular or vasospastic angina is revealed following stents being inserted or coronary artery bypass surgery.
There is growing evidence that shows that people living with microvascular angina don't necessarily respond well to GTN or nitrates.
I no longer use a short acting GTN spray as it works briefly and then I experience worse rebound coronary vasospasms. I live with vasospastic angina which is along with microvascular angina is a type of angina/ ischaemia non obstructive coronary arteries ANOCA/INOCA.
I can feel my angina in the whole left side of my face, left jaw, tongue and behind my left eye. I have a feeling of a cheese wire cutting through my upper left chest to my back.

I don’t experience angina in my tongue, but I do experience it in my throat and it also goes into my ears (recent development). The pain is very, very unpleasant.
Do you have a GTN spray and have you used it during these episodes to see if it subsides? It might be worth using next time to see if it helps.
I hope these episodes settle down for you soon.
All the best.
