I have two stents and I am on medication but lately I keep getting sharp jabbing pain in my heart. Very short and sharp. Should I be worried?

Hello
I get all sorts of sensations but I always tell my Doctor and this maybe a case of things settling down but I would speak with your Doctor or Consultant that way you know for sure and you will have peace of mind
Let us know how you get on x
I had the same after having 4 stents, I found this in a Royal Papworth hospital pamphlet,
It is common for people to experience further discomfort in their chest in the first few days and weeks following a stent procedure. This is because your artery has suffered some trauma and bruising from the stent being fitted. You can have episodes of pain or discomfort as the stent settles into place. This pain is usually quite different from that of angina. It is felt quite locally in the chest, and is often described as sharp or stabbing. This type of pain may be relieved by paracetamol.
this is where you can find the pamphlet
royalpapworth.nhs.uk/patients-and-visitors/patient-information-leaflets, copy everything up to the comma and paste into the address field of your browser then type stent in the search box on web page.
When i had my angiography last year although i wasnt a candidate for stents it took me 30days for my angina to calm down after the procedure. I would say when the wire was passing through my artery it was extremly uncomfortbable.
Post 30 days i was back to normal. And 3 weeks after that i had my bypass procedure.
You don't mention how long ago you had the stents inserted, but I suggest seeing your doctor or cardiologist. Better safe than sorry.
