after being on a respirator for covid 2021 I was put on clopidogril along with rivaroxaban

After a year just taking bisporasol and clopidogril

Want to stop clopidogril due to low platelets and bruising

I see no reason to continue with this awful medication all other symptoms are controlled

Dr reluctant for me to come off

But 3 years on I want to come off just not sure if I just stop or taper ?

so looking for anyone else been on it for similar reason

Clopidogrel thins the blood. I love it. When on Clopi I get very very few migraines. When I have to stop clopi the migraines start up again.

I don’t recommend stopping unless your GP agrees. By stopping, are you increasing the chance of a stroke ?

If you do stop, there is no need to taper. I have shopped Clopi for dental work and when I had AVR. After both these stoppages I just restarted.

I have noticed that doctors are not very upfront about stopping any medications, we can undestand that they will not take the responsibility for any mishaps because of their decision, so it lands on the individual to make that informed decision.
