Blood Test Kidney
I spent 5 days in hospital with the same thing attached constantly to a drip. They adjusted all my meds and stopped one. Bloods have been fine since. 😊
My husband's eGFR fluctuated between 31 & 37 last year which really concerned his nurses, they did say dialysis isn't considered until your eGFR is 10 or below though. His eGFR settled at 37 and they were happy with that as it was stable. I can't remember his creatine levels, though I'd have to check my records for that but he does now have stage 3b kidney disease. It's not uncommon for those on heart meds to lose kidney function which is why you should have 6 monthly/annual blood tests. If necessary you can be switched to more kidney friendly meds but apparently you can live quite well with low kidney function and the medics don't seem to be too concerned unless it's very low.
Thanks for your reply it has given me some relief xx
Glad I was able to help. If you're on diuretics, which are the usual culprits for reduced kidney function, perhaps ask your Dr/nurse if you could swop to a more kidney friendly alternative.
I do get your concern though, my husband was very poorly last year from VT's & severe heart failure & his eGFR dropped from 60 to 31 almost overnight! To say he was worried would be an understatement but his nurse did explain that, though concerning, they wouldn't start to really worry until his eGFR went under 30.
Good luck, I hope your next blood test is more favourable xx
