Bit of a scare but all okay now

Hey Everyone

So Olive (and my body) decided to give us a bit of a scare Thursday night, I was watching England play ( the less said about that the better) and during the match I started getting really intense pain (like the Braxton Hicks I'd beeen having but stronger) then I got chest pains, then an upset stomach and I realised she hadn't been moving as much.

I call the hospital and they tell us to make our way in. I was hooked but to a CTG and and ECG and they scanned me and done a few other tests and everything came back normal. Oh and once I was hooked up to the CTG olive decided she was awake and moved about so much.

I was still have the Braxton Hicks pains and although the doctor's were 99% sure they were just Braxton Hicks they did keep me in overnight. On Friday my heart rate was a little higher than normal (I'm naturally low HR and mine was slightly higher for me but within the normal range) and there was talk of an emergency C-section. Me and Dan talked it over and decided that we'd try and keep her in for as long as possible. The consultant was hesitant but we compromised and said if my heart rate stays within range over the weekend and I don't get any reduced movements he'd be happy but that meant the weekend in the hospital. I agreeed and actually I made some friends on the ward and we had a good laugh.

I've just been discharged and currently enjoying some homemade (by Mum) soup.

Pregnancy, hospitals and heat are not friends! So I'm very pleased to be home.

So I'm still pregnant, HR almost back to my normal rhythm.

I've decided it was the England football teams fault for making me ill! Hopefully they play better tomorrow and they won't effect my heart or Olive

V x

Oh wow, such fun....not! Thankfully all is well. Heat and pregnancy don't really mix either, my 2 "boys" 47 and 44, lol are July babies and was so uncomfortable. Be careful if you watch the next game 🤔😜xx

How are you and Ralph doing?

I'm sitting here waiting for them to bring him home. He's been ready since 10 a.m. but pharmacy not sent his meds yet! He's had lunch in hospital and they've ordered him something for later if still not got them. Such a long time waiting!Keep cool, curtains closed, plenty of cool drinks, but stay near the loo😊x

Those maternity hospitals are always busy and noisy aren't they?

Olive didn't think much of the football either then xx

Valentina98 in reply toCat04

Clearly not! Considering she kicks like a footballer, she didn't like England's style on Thursday.

Hello :-)

Well if you will watch England playing what can I say :-D

Please avoid the next match that would be my advise :-)

Hospitals and heat no matter what ward are not a good mix but nice you got chatting to others and made friends while you were in there :-)

Your Mum bless her no matter what she is always there I think she is a good one and bet the soup was lovely to :-)

Hope things stay settled , keep cool and take it easy and next post hopefully you will have had your baby naturally and all will be good :-)

Hope Dan is getting better and stronger ready to support you with the night feeds :-) x

Yeah, I do moan about Mum but she's a good one. It was delicious, chunky vegetable and Dan done a cheese sandwich to have with it..

I'm going to watch the England match like I did last night's Scotland match but I'll try not to get too invested.... Well maybe lol

I have a fan next to me and I am drinking plenty of cold water

I'm planning on Breastfeeding so Dan won't be able to do much during the night although his job is the nappies. He is doing okay.

Hello :-)

Soup sounds delicious :-)

Just have a bag packed ready then if you are still going to watch it :-D

Yes we have four fans on the go the weather is one extreme to the other

You could always express and let him have a go changing the nappies is the easy bit once you are up and fed them you might as well just change the nappy yourself :-D

You will get a routine though

I am glad Dan is dong a lot better especially now it is nearly time for the baby coming that is a great positive :-) x

Yeah I might express. I'll probably end up doing the night nappies anyway, like you said I'll be up.

Hospital bag is next to the front door. Excluding the things I wore in hospital this weekend, I'm just going to get some clean ones in there.

So pleased to hear everything is ok. Sadly watching England is enough to give anyone problems at the moment. Take care. Brian
