Magnesium and potassium, cure to Bigemini and Trigemini PVCs?

Friends, I recently reported on my bad bout of ectopics, mainly bigemini and trigemini, nearly permanently now. I started a dose of magnesium and potassium and it is much much improved! I have also noticed that my heart does not pace as fast with little bursts of exercise. I am also taking B12 supplements (although this is for another condition) so it could be that also. I am not sure which one it is but the fact is that they have much improved! It has worked for me so I would suggest that others with a ectopic condition to try this. I have seen many cardiologists and at no time has my vitamin levels been checked. Hope this helps 🤗

How wonderful it’s working for you. Did you have tests to check your levels of Vit b12 and magnesium before taking supplements?

Low Vit B12 can certainly play havoc with your heart. For me, when I was low and required injections to increase my levels, it caused more frequent ectopics and bradycardia back down to worrisome levels of bpm in the 30s day and night. The injections didn’t stop my issues but they returned to normal levels.

I take magnesium orotate daily in advice from my GP. She wants to keep my magnesium levels at the high end of the normal range. I still get ectopics and other arrhythmias, but magnesium supports the heart so it can’t be bad.

The b12 I am taking due to very low levels according to recent blood tests (reading of 18 when it should be a minimum of 130). I suffered a pulmonary embolism and my doctor was investigating the cause. Low b12 is associated with creation of blood clots so think the doctor has hit the cause on that front. However, I honestly don’t know which of the 3 (magnesium, potassium or b12) is helping my ectopics, but it must be one of the 3 or maybe all 3 in their own way! Happy to help answer any questions you may have! 🤗

Thanks. My issues with B12 are resolved for now. I’ve been on magnesium for some time and both b12 and magnesium levels are tested regularly (last test was Apr). My cardiac condition is genetic so unfortunately supplements won’t do a lot but they certainly do add to the overall support for my heart condition.

Both before and after my heart surgery last year, I was prescribed potassium and magnesium (in the form of liquid), to help support my heart. I believe the magnesium is supposed to stop you going into A.F post op (sadly it didn’t work for me) and the potassium helps prevent you from having a cardiac arrest.

I recall the hospital being fairly obsessive about it and I wld be required to drink the supplements (which were quite unpalatable) 3 or 4 times a day - for the duration of my 2 wk stay. However, once I left the hospital, no one has mentioned them again since! Something to discuss with the Cardiologist at my next visit, I think!

As one who does have PVCs, I'd be interested in the doses of those 2 supplements which have lessened your PVCs.

I am currently taking 100% of RDA of magnesium and 20% of RDA of potassium. Working great for me, suggest anybody suffering from ectopics or PVCs without any other heart conditions to try this or have their levels checked out.
