Hi, I have heart disease and had a stent 2 years ago,I'm on a cocktail of medication.I had an echocardiogram recently that shows mild aortic stenosis and mild/ moderate aortic reguritation. This was a surprise to me as this has never been mentioned until now.Looking back at a CT Angiogram from 2019 I can see it says"Thickened aortic valve, possibly with associated valve stenosis." This implies that in a 5 year period things have deteriorated so am I right in presuming that the situation is likely to continue to derteriorate meaning at some point surgery is inevitable? I will have an echo again in a year's time.Having read a little about this condition does anyone know if taking vitamin D is not recommended with aortic stenosis?

Aortic stenosis
There is some thought by certain specialists that taking statins and ACE inhibitors may lessen the progression of aortic stenosis. I haven't heard anything about avoiding taking vitamin D but some people do go overboard taking daily doses well over 1000 units.
Not sure about Vit D, can you get outside more and pick that up naturally? In my experience aortic stenosis can only really be assessed by echocardiograms, and so regular ones, likely annual, will track any increase in the level of stenosis.
My aortic stenosis got steadily worse and had a valve replacement 9 years ago. However I now have mild mitral stenosis diagnosed 8 years ago. I take vitamin K2 (K2 directs calcium to appropriate organs and, for me, stops calcium being deposited on heart valves) and the severity has not progressed.
Thank you
