Recovery after a TAVI

I had a successful TAVI procedure on 28th May this year and was discharged from hospital the following day with a paper bag containing medication but no information about how to aid recovery, how long before I could drive or lift any weight or what that weight limit might be. I live on my own with no family support so some light lifting is essential or I can't eat.

Should the hospital have provided me with at least a leaflet about recovery?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

The BHF produce a pamphlet about TAVI which should have lots of useful information for you.

including recovery. BHF leaflets were routinely available in cardiac clinics before the pandemic, They disappeared because of the threat of infection and never really reappeared. I attend quite a few clinics and empty racks waiting for leaflets are common. Yiu cannot drive for at least four weeks. Mick Jagger was fully recovered tin three months after a TAVI in 2020.

The BHF Nurses are also available to talk to weekdays 9am to 5pm, telephone .0808 802 1234 (freephone).
