Bisoprolol and pulse 37
Hi , please see your cardiologist asap or go to A&E . Will need to adjust / stop biso.
That is very low. I’d seek advice medical ASAP.
Speak to your GP/pharmacist/medical team asap. That’s a bit too low ! Or 111 if for immediate advice.
Defo to low, get your GP to adjust the bisoprolol. I had exactly the same issue and was taken off it
My Cardiologost told me it would increase my heart rate! But the pharmacist told me Bisoprolol will bring HR down, that's the truth of it. So my HR is now hovering around the 40 Beats/min. Occassionally 38.
Three weeks ago , my rate dropped to 32, not all the time but on occasion. I went to hospital and was kept in A&E overnight and monitored. The advice in the morning was to stop Bisoprolol altogether and since then although my rate drops sometimes it is in the mid 40s . I am on a long list for an ablation so hopefully this will stop altogether.
Bisoprolol is taken to reduce HR and I have taken it for two years and my rate is on average 53-58 .Surely your cardiologist didn’t tell you it was to increase heart rate as even us layman know its purpose. If he did then change cardiologist!
Perhaps he lied to me so that I would take the 1.25 mg Bisoprolol? I had never heard of Bisoprolol before that. It was to try and stop me taking my GTN daily, it certainly did the job and no longer take the GTN spray. My pharmacist gave me all the low downs on it and I had the option to stop it if my HR went down to 30. HR is now 38-42. So working well so far.
Hi, mine dropped to 31 while on 2.5mg of bisoprolol and i was blue lighted to a&e then advised by my cardiologist to immediately stop taking It due to a low heart rate.
Morning, you don't say what dose. but after an NSTEMI in summer 22 I was discharged on 2.5mg of Bisoprolol - after a few weeks I'd noticed my resting heart rate would fall to mid 30's during early evening post meal or while asleep. I'd bought an Apple Watch by this point to monitor. Subsequent discussions with my GP's practice pharmacist resulted in changing to 1.25mg - which seems to work well for me. Lows are now low 40's rarely dipping below 40 and the highs - even when exercising/running are unchanged at mid 120's. As others have said try and discuss this with GP or Pharmacist and if you can build a picture of when these low's occur. Good Luck!
