confused
Hello
I do feel for you not hearing about your first test results to just get asked to go for this without an explanation
I think most of us would wonder what was going of and it is very hard for us to guess what this maybe all about but it could be they saw something and now want to do a scan to check and if that was the case sometimes after the scan what they may have thought the scan shows no it is not just looked a bit strange first time if I am making any sense
But what I would do is contact the Hospital my Doctor and ask where the results are from the first test and why they are calling you back for this one
Your Doctor should have been sent some information on your first test results
Sorry I cannot be of anymore help I hope others will have a better idea and easy to say but try not to worry
Let us know how you get on x
thank you it’s very worrying that they haven’t even given me results from the one I had over 3 weeks ago
Hello
Of course it will feel worrying as human nature will jump to the worst scenario but in a lot of cases that thought we have ends up not been what we think
It is wrong of them not to let you know why they have called you back for this other scan and I cannot believe they do not think how much this would worry someone but it maybe just to double check and make sure they have got all they need to hopefully be able to tell you that nothing is wrong
Keep trying to get some answers if you can and I know not easy but try not to worry whatever this turns out to be you will be alright and at the moment it is all "if's " as they have not told you anything
I would if I got to speak to someone make it clear the stress and worry this has caused x
Hi Nico
I’ve had a similar experience where I was booked in for a 2nd “invasive” angiogram (sounds horrible but it’s not 🙂). This was because CT ones can highlight a potential issue but are not detailed enough to be conclusive. Generally they’ll call you back to be sure that there’s something that they may need to look at in more detail - it really doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s something drastically wrong!
It took over 2 weeks for my CT results to come through - NHS backlogs and all that 😱
My CT (with dye) suggested a triple valve issue but my “invasive” angio confirmed that wasn’t the case (far from a perfect outcome but a lot better than the initial CT led me to believe)….its easy to think the worst in the absence of good communication - but don’t!
Really happy to chat further if it helps 🙂
I called my surgery own dr no results there also have left messages to heart consultants secretary but she hasn’t got back to me very confused ty
Hi Nico Its not the same but I received a letter out of the blue for a echo of the heart and I was very confused (doesn't take much lol ) 2 days later I received a second letter for a appointment with my cardiologist to discuss my previous angiogram and that they were arranging a echo for immediately before so for me the letters were sent in the wrong order or delayed. So maybe there is further information on the way if not you could phone to double check or maybe your DR could find out for you. I know its really hard not to worry
thank you
I too wondered about the progression of scans that I was having this time last year, starting with an ECG at my surgery, then CT and MRI scans. I can't recall receiving any reports back, though my heart surgeon spotted something on my liver and wanted another scan on that (turned out to be "benign"), and then I had an unconnected one on my eyes. I had to chase up the results of the latter as my TAVI was approaching - all was OK. (The scan was a bit surreal, at a community hospital - no overnight patients - at 0800 on a Sunday morning. Empty car-park, one receptionist who directed me to a waiting-room, where I sat for ten minutes with no evidence of other humans until the radiographer collected me.)
