Ablation Recovery?

Hello there,👋I'm New to this...

I've had A.F. since 2020 (on medication),

had 2 failed Cardioversions & this Week had an Ablation-which All seemed to go well (& didn't have to stay in Overnight).

But since recovering at home-I seem to be in More pain than when I went in!?

Chest pains/Crushing feeling in Middle of chest, Sore to Breath & difficult/breathless too! (Also have Asthma-which is well controlled at mo, But I seem to want to use my Relever inhaler More to Help!?)...

It's Only been 5 days which is soon-and I knew I'd feel Sore & Bruised etc...But didn't think I'd feel this Rotten/breathless days later...

Is This Normal Recovery for Ablation-do you feel Worse for a while afterwards (while Body/heart adjust to this?) Or Should I call the Health professionals/Hospital...??

Thanks xx😊

If I felt like that I would contact the number you would have been given for peace of mind if nothing else. I'm due for ablation no 5 in a few days and I know I would be doing the same if I had those symptoms regardless of what the guidelines say ! I have never felt worse after an ablation.

Due to the very nature of your procedure you are more prone to pericarditis and myocarditis. This is only a possibility and as the other poster says contact your medical team, especially this close in. It is always best to ask.

I would contact my AF nurse for support. My first ablation was in 2019 and it was early 2020 before I could walk up stairs without having to stop for breath.
