ATORVASTATIN

Hi, I have been on atorvastatin 40mg now for about 3 years, I'm also on clopidogrel,and losartan , I am getting itching of mainly of the back , does any one else have this problem on atorvastatin. Thank you

If you believe you are suffering from a side effect of one or more of the medications you are taking I suggest you talk it through with a pharmacist who will be able to give you a professional opinion on your condition. I have taken atorvastatin for about 25 years and am now on the max dose, and also had 12 months of clopidogrel a few years ago, plus for many years I have taken irbesartan which is a relation of losartan, and haven't had any obvious skin itching, although we can all respond to medication in different ways.

I have been on the same three tablets for over 2 years now with no side effects I can detect. I do sometimes get ‘itchy’ legs at night but put that down to pool swimming. I now make sure when I have an after swim shower I use body wash on my legs and sometimes moisturiser.

Hi Spireblue, yes I have been taking Atorvastatin for a few years now and I suffer itching not just my back but my scalp and my face, I don't know if it's down to the Atorvastatin or not.My husband also takes Atorvastatin and suffers from excessive sweating, I don't know if this is down to Atorvastatin either. Should really ask GP that's if we can get an appointment.
