Hi all, Even though my BP heart rate and sugar levels are spot on I am getting tight chested and breathless if I do anything other than sit about. I don't don't know medical terms but I believe my heart is functioning about 39%. I'm hoping to get a doctor's appointment this week.
any recommendations ?

Hi Doublef I for no reason had a fortnight of breathlessness and I dnever smoked felt anxious for no reason went to GP to say I'm having continuous palpitations when checked I had irregular heart beat consultant at hospital said and started me on 5mg of Bisoprolol to which as helped for 4 months but the flutters are starting to come back so I'm having review of the dose next Monday maybe to up the dose, Don't let this continue see your GP. Wishing you all the best 👍
Good morning Doublef. I suggest you mention the breathlessness to your doctor at the appointment. He may put it down to your decreased heart function or arrange other tests to find out the cause. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on. Brian
I would definitely tell your GP about your breathlessness and how it affects you. I've been complaining about breathlessness for almost 3 years and at last a GP has paid attention! I kept getting told it wasn't my asthma and just over a month ago my cardiologist said it wasn't my heart. I now know that I have fluid in one of my lungs and that it has been there for at least a year!! I'm now going for a spirometry test. Waiting list is 33 weeks where I am so I'm hoping to get an appointment shortly at a private clinic. All the best for your GP appointment.
Hi.The same has happened to me. X-ray shows fluid around my lungs. I have AF but am not in heart failure. I have been in NSR since cardioversion 2 years ago. My HR is quite low at around 48 but regular.
I am taking bisoprolol, Riveroxaban, and Amiodorone.
I would be interested to know if they get to the bottom of your lung problem.
Hi Doublef, I'm sorry to hear of your symptoms and yes it is worrying and the general advice of getting support as soon as possible is important. Do you have access to a blood pressure monitor. If you can borrow one or purchase even a basic one for a few pounds it will prove a helpful investment. BP readings taken at home is in my experience always prefered by GP's and health professionals because it is generally more accurate and closer to normal conditions than sat in a surgery or AandE. Pharmacies also offer free BP checks and if you are having to wait for an appt you might get a second opinion from a Pharmacist who might also advise on how speedily you should seek medical advice.
I went to a different cardiologist, he said my breathlessness could be from blood thinner Brillinta, he changed it to one I used to be on. It has helped. Just a thought. My other cardiologist never listened to me. Take care. Moni
