Well the holiday is booked so now it’s time to trawl through the specialist insurance companies for worldwide, mind you we are off to a tiny island in the Indian Ocean, I stand no chance any way it takes 45 mins for the sea plane to get there from the main island.

Wish me luck I can see it being an expensive day I’ll keep you posted.

Do check if you really need Worldwide. Dropping North American and the Caribbean can significantly reduce premiums.

Hi….firstly very jealous. I’m guessing it’s The Maldives? Stunning part of the world.

We’ve just got back from 8 weeks in Thailand. I had a quad bypass last June. We do a 12 month holiday insurance. Disclosing all ailments and medications it wasn’t a stupid price. We have used them for years so not sure that helps us with renewal? The company we use is Staysure.

Good luck with it and enjoy your wonderful holiday.

We normally use staysure , but haven’t since my stent . Do you normally call them or just fill out the online form ?

I usually do it online but because so much had happened/changed I spoke with them. We have never had any issues with them

You guess we’ll. My HT and quad CABG is almost 2 years ago now but it’s left me with Microvascular angina and I think it’s that that’s pushing it up.

Don’t forget to check packaged bank accounts. I found paying for an annual upgrade to the Nationwide packaged insurance was considerably cheaper than even one long haul single trip policy (although considerably more than paying as you go for short haul European trips). Even if not, might be worth having the base policy so you can scrimp on the extras when buying cover for your condition elsewhere.

We had the same operation at much the same time and I remember a year or so ago there were complications with your procedures.. This seems a turn round if you are contemplating such an adventure. Well done!

I use justtravelcover.com. If you get quotes online then wait a day or two you will then be offered a discount of at least 10%

Hello,Have you been offered any further tests to confirm your diagnosis of microvascular angina ?

Is your diagnosis of microvascular angina written in any of your clinic letters?

I live with coronary vasospasms in both my microvessels and coronary arteries. My diagnosis of vasospastic angina was confirmed by a specialised functional angiogram.

I have used Staysure, All Clear or Avanti to get my travel insurance.

I’ve had lots of test inc. stress MRI, stress Echo and an in-depth angiogram, then the outcome was microvascular angina. I’ve now passed to a cardiologist at my own hospital who I will be seeing at the end of April and I hope to get some more answers.

Thanks

Not too bad thanks. Have been on several trips but I find waiting round at airports etc problematic as I am more impatient now.

I have three long term conditions including heart and have found insurance for holidays expensive and hard to find. BUT last 2 years I have got an annual travel insurance from payingtoomuch.com which is the first time that was available. Just took out another for world wide including USA.

We use All Clear for our Annual Policy but have heard Avanti are very good. Point to nite, make sure you declare absolutely everything. Even if you've contracted something like Covid in the past it needs declaring. Ins Companies will use any excuse not to pay out. For my Plethora of ailments and my wife's heart issues it set us back £700 for the annual policy. Once again, and I can't emphasise this enough. Absolutely everything needs declaring no matter how trivial it may seem.

careful with the company. You didn’t have insurance at time of booking! BIL took out insurance day after booking. SIL had cancer couldn’t go. £3.5k lighter!!
