Spider now snakes !!!!

Fluffybee profile image
26 Replies

Found a grass snake last week, they don’t bother me so watched it wiggle off,

Just now, there’s a small adder just gone into a crumbly old wall, yikes they can cause damage, keeping my dog inside until it’s found again. I’ll put a photo on here if I see it again.

It’s that time of year, I’m keeping my GTN spray on my person today !!!!!

I think strokes are covered in a different group....🤪

We should go into business making little GTN pouches to either hang round your neck from a lanyard or have a belt loop.

We could do fluffy ones 😜 sparkly ones , little snake ones etc etc

What do you think Fluffybee 😕😂

Fluffybee

Well I think that’s a perfect idea, what shall we call the business ?

Nice to see you are in good spirits Fluffybee. I wish I was in the countryside where I could see snakes and spiders. Just love nature to the fullest.

I do like going to the city now and again but love to come home 🏠

Its a very quiet area here, there are a lot of people who come to visit for various reasons, the nature is incredible, little hedgehogs snuffling about in the summer, saved a baby woodpecker a few weeks back and the sanctuary actually let me bring it back to release it as this is it’s home on my birthday, what an incredible gift that was 😃

It’s been here hammering away at the lovely trees in the garden since 🥴😃

It sounds idyllic. We would get on well given our nature interests. However, whereas in UK there are no deadly snakes (adder a little poisonous), here in Singapore one is more likely to spot a cobra which is a different kettle of snakes haha. Thankfully a rare sighting and they are def more scared of you and soon vanish.

Going to work on a night shift in China we used to see lots of people in the Paddy Fields with Head Torches and Forked sticks catching Snakes and Bagging them up to sell in the market !!

That was a great gift. How lovely to bring it home.

We have woodpeckers at the back of us and always have hedgehogs around.

Last winter my hubby heard something scratching at the back door and when he opened it to look we had a cute hoggy hanging on the rainboard on the bottom of the door

Not sure who was most surprised, the sweet little chap or us 😀

Of course he got a dish of cat food to reward him for his antics 😂

That is just so sweet, the little woodpecker had flown into the window and wouldn’t get up at all, we left it for a bit to see if it would fly off but needed more help so off to the sanctuary, it had concussion so a couple of days later had a phone call to go and get it, so rewarding xxx

Hi Fluff

We see lots of Slow Worms, Grass Snakes and the occasional Adder on our Daily Walk. I work on the basis if you don't bother them, they don't bother you !!!

There’s quite a few adders coiled up sunbathing on the footpaths, just need to keep my dog away from them 😳

WOW! Where (abouts, no need to be too specific on an open forum) do you live?? I want to be sure not to go outdoors there (and if I'm there, to be very careful about the WC!), yikes!

ETA: I live in NE Scotland. I still well recall walking into the heather and gorse one afternoon and my husband calling out to me 'Mind the adders!' as I'd forgot to stomp as I walked.

😂😂😂😂😂 Norfolk broads area, you need a shewee 😂😂😂😂

ellj profile image
ellj in reply toFluffybee

Well, who knows one of these days we could end up walking into each other in reality and not just in a virtual way.

We have a little boat at Wayford Bridge.

Love the remote broads especially.

Salhouse years ago was one of our favourite moorings.

We used to keep our boat at Stalham but moved it when we wanted to work on it.

Sadly life got in the way and we haven't been down for a couple of years now ☹️

Ellie

Ps I never could get the hang of the Shewee 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂

Fluffybee in reply toellj

😂😂😂😂 there’s a knack to it 🤭🤭

Oh my goodness, maybe we actually will I know the areas very well indeed, if you do come to spend time on your boat you’ll have to let me know, what a coincidence 🤗🤗

A nice coincidence , and we love dogs too 😀

Perfect, do you have one ?

ellj profile image
ellj in reply toFluffybee

Sadly not atm.

Lots of family stuff and health issues so we kept delaying getting another after we list our last, a lab.

We have three in the family though so no shortage of doggy sitting. Our sons elderly Springer/Cocker spaniel is a poor old boy now and doesn't walk far but loves to get on the sofa with us 😜 when no one is looking.

Fluffybee profile image
Fluffybee in reply toellj

Oh I do love a Lab, always had one, then got a cocker spaniel, she’s also old (12) but has her spritely moments then sleeps for the rest of the day 🤗

I have my daughters chocolate Lab to stay now and again, she’s 3, adorable with a cheeky naughty streak, and loves to pinch ANY food including a whole chicken (cooked) 🤭

ellj profile image
ellj in reply toFluffybee

Ooh I love chocolate, and love labs so I double love your daughters choc lab ,😀

I don't know what it is with them but I've had two one black one yellow that pinched the Sunday roast 😂 also cooked.

Our very first pinched the beef before I got it in the oven and thoroughly gorged himself. Other half was not impressed and refused to speak to said lab all day🙄

Fluffybee profile image
Fluffybee in reply toellj

I’d been actually chopping the chicken and lots still in the pack when the phone rang, went back to the kitchen and no sign of the chicken, in the distance I could see my yellow Lab with the pack chomping away, no point going to take it away from her, not to eat!!!!! As she turns into a little Tasmanian devil !!!!! So a vegetarian tea that day 😳
