My first mini jog today

Felt great felt bloody great. Yes it was only for 5 minutes ( lol) but just running felt brilliant ,followed it up with a 3000m stint on the rowing machine ( 500m at pace of 2.30 ,1min break), heart rate went to 128bpm but recovered really well.

All under the guidance of cardio rehab instructor.

It felt great.

That's great, see doing little and often you will get there, well done , Bee

Yup, little and often is key to restarting the cardio workouts, hoping to get back into running by the end of the year .

That's great I always feel better after doing exercise. I do sit fit not an easy option as our instructor works us hard . We use resistance bands straight and circular and ankle weights. I brought 500g ones as I couldn't use her 1kg ones . She gave us a wake up routine 5 weeks ago only 10 reps of 7 exercises but I do them every morning. And the days I don't go out do 25 mins at home. I have PAF but was born with Hereditary Hyperekplexia which is a neurological condition a gene mutation in my brain receptors which effects my mobility and cognitive function. It's not a mental illness but means I have to read things a few times for information to sink in . Plus all my life I have been in constant pain and fall. But thanks to my family and my husband who died 20 years ago aged 47. I live my life to the full. Routine helps me get through each day. And no matter how much pain or how bad my mobility is if I plan to do something I have to do it.

Only found out in 2020 was born with a hole in my heart and had my diagnosis of PAF in 2021 and diagnosis of hereditary Hyperekplexia in 2022. I will be 66 next month.

But better late than never having any diagnosis. Keep going and enjoying your achievements. 🏃

Wow. How do you get a cardio rehab instructor

in reply toAlphakiwi

The hospital near me has a partnership with a cardio rehabilitation centre. Half private, half funded . Once you finish the 8 weeks ( free) rehabilitation from the NHS, you can join as a paying member.

Not what you're looking for?
