Quite a personal achievement today. I ve walked over 7 miles and up hills with a total gradient of 500ft. Ive noticed that ive sweated a lot but i feel good and not totally exhausted. I expect i shall probably feel it tomorrow though but its been a good day out in the peaks.
I walked from Steeple Grange near Wirksworth, up Middleton Top incline, then up the Hopton incline to Harborough Rocks and back down to Wirksworth.
Ive got an echocardiogram on the 23rd be interesting to see what the results of that are.

Well done, both for getting out in the weather and for tackling a decent walk. I’m off to Devon in a few weeks and looking forward to being out on the bike/walking despite my heart failure diagnosis.
Thats brilliant. I am planning to redo some of the walks I havent done for donkeys years as well as walk up Snowdon next year once ive got some more mileage and altitude under my belt.
I know i learned that a few weeks ago when i did far too much in one week and i felt burned out for a week afterwards. I feel a bit tired today but not as much as i would have done if i did the same walk before I had a HA. I think the fact my heart rate goes recovers quicker after exercise leaves me with a good feeling these days rather than feeling shattered as I used to before i was on meds.
Pacing and planning is important with exercise but also doing day to day stuff as well. Its all too easy to accidentally do too much. My mum always used to say "Do a bit, rest a bit." She was right. Thsts how to do it.
Yes some good walks round Carsington reservoir (longervthqn it looks), the pastures, High Peak trail, Black Rocks, Cromford Canal, Harborough rocks, over towards Winster and Matlock as well.
Great stuff. Love the view. I'm still in hospital but thinking about walks already. I take myself off the monitor and walk the hospital corridors, where defibs are available and Drs always around . Manage a 1.5km circuit😁. Got to keep moving if you can. Staff put up with it now.
Well done! I admit I did walk up Lincoln's Steep Hill two weeks after having my pacemaker fitted but my 7 mile days are usually flat walking over the course of day apart from going up and down some stairs and walking up an escalator as I did on Sunday (Highbury and Islington so not a very steep one, not sure what my legs would make of Hyde Park Corner with the escalator turned off now days 😥). The views are certainly worth it. Still remember the joy and wonder of getting to the top of a very steep hill in Mayorca (cycling at first then walking the bicycle for most of it) around 5 months after my valve replacement.
