6 months post stent

Hi Guys,It's 6 months post LAD stent and I thought I would log my progress.

My life is pretty much back to normal, work full time and busy as ever

Fitness wise, running, cycling and walking but still not really pushing myself to the limit as I used to when racing as I thought I would give it a year to build up my fitness. It's having the confidence to push that Heart rate back up to my normal 180+

I found it was the mental health side of things which took time, I was very conscious of hearing my Heart beat and that made me more anxious and my HR go higher!!! But thankfully I've turned a corner and don't even think about it now, thankfully.

Drugs wise,

Aspirin for life.

Clopidogrel for a year- 6 months to go!!

Lansoprazole 15mg

And my statin was changed from Atorvastatin 40mg which gave me twinges in my chest, not pleasant and worrying , changed to

Rosuvastatin 15 mg- much better. My last Cholesterol check was from 6.1 to 3.7!!! Result 👍🏻

I now feel settled and look forward to the future.

Diet wise still cut out read meat and still eating healthy with the odd cake, you got to have some vices lol.

A little Alcohol, everything in moderation.

Good health to all.

And take care.😊

hi read your update with interest. I’m 6 months post 3 stents. Wasn’t nearly as healthy as you sound but have made some life saving changes going forward. I too was on atorvastatin and changed a few weeks ago to rosuvastatin but have been having short sharp pains in my neck which is worrying me. Like you the mental health side of surviving such a traumatic event has been the hardest to cope with. Hopefully time will heal that as my heart gets stronger ! Good luck to you

Hi Bemma24 So are you getting pains since going onto the Rosuvastatin? I'm better on that one compared to the Atorvastatin.

Also did you have a HA? Have you had an echocardiogram to check your heart?

I didn't have a HA, i had exercise induced angina and luckily no heart damage, that's makes a difference as I can eventually push my heart to my normal standard effort.

I'm not sure how far you can push it if you have had a HA? But if you haven't had a HA, you can carry life as normal.

Regards

I had LAD stent 2 days ago. Keep getting twinges in chest and back and am extremely anxious. Good to hear from people who have coped with it all, don’t feel like I am and don’t know what to do.
