Hello 👋 I had a cabg in July last for a blocked Lad. I had a heart attack & the cabg 10 days later. The wait gor me was worse than the op. Obviously it was uncomfortable but not as painful as I expected. I was home 4 days after the op & 6 months down the line I'm doing well. I wish you the very best with your op x
Thank you so much for your reply. I’m glad you are doing well. I had a heart attack in August last year and had a stent fitted for a 100 per cent blockage of the LAD but they found another 100 per cent blockage in December they had missed. Tried to stent again but couldn’t so that’s why I’m having a coronary bypass. Just waiting . I agree the wait is horrible. Just want it done. All the best to you.
Hi Lemon 31
I too had cabg in October 2023. 63 yr old female. Heart attack 6 years ago followed by 2 stents. Cabg obviously uncomfortable but definitely no where near as bad as I had imagined. Staff and surgeons were absolutely brilliant. They do this all day everyday and really are magical. There are some clips on you tube about what to expect when having a cabg. I found these extremely helpful and helped to prepare myself and my family for the time in hospital and the recovery. As Dyllibobs says, the waiting is the worst part.
I wish you luck, but you won’t need it. You’ll be fine.
