Hi, I had a stent fitted to my 99% blocked LAD in December 2023. The issue first came to light with left shoulder pain and discomfort, which I'm still experiencing. I'm booked in to see my GP on Friday morning and they're doing an ECG, which showed no abnormalities prior to my stent. Any advice please? I have no chest pain and also have an old neck injury, so don't want to sit in A&E for 5 hours.

This can be a difficult one when you have shoulder and neck pain yet before your heart events you had an injury or another condition which caused you to have pain in that area

I have something wrong with my shoulder but can tell when I get pain that it was it is and I do see the Doctor who reassures me it is coming from the problem with my shoulder

I think we know our own bodies better than anyone else and would be hard to say which you should do but somewhere deep down I think we know if we need to go to A&E or can wait to see the Doctor

I had back and shoulder pain which I always thought was down to sports injuries. After my stents and being advised about having a bypass the consultant said it could also have been caused by angina. I had a silent heart attack (no chest pain) which was picked up by ECGs and a blood test.I would ask for a blood test and tests to see if there are any heart issues.

As for spending hours waiting in A&E, my wife went with me earlier on Christmas morning 2022 and I walked into A&E, then spent the whole day there as tests were done and I was told I WAS having a HA.

I didn't like the waiting, but it was worth it in the end.
