I have a genetic duplication 16p13.11, which I know affects my aortic valve, but what else?

As far as I can tell, my genetic duplication 16p13.11 mainly affects my aortic root in the heart, but I'm not quite sure if its common for those with Autism and/or ADHD, which I have both as well. I'm not taking any medication as its currently not necessary, as I was diagnosed at least a decade ago.I'm not sure what to avoid, or limit, like caffeine for example, but I'm not a medical professional, so I wouldn't know. Anyone else heard of such, or have it?

I am Autistic but do not have this issue however there has been some research done that they feel sometimes it can be linked to Autism

Also does anyone else have this in the family as that is another reason it can be passed on through family genes

You could make an appointment with your Doctor and ask them to explain it more to you and any advise they can give you

Keeping yourself as healthy as you can by eating sensibly and getting exercise which will always help any heart conditions

You could also phone the British Heart Foundation Nurses I will put you their number on who have lots of knowledge and maybe able to talk you through it and give you lots of good advice x

As far as I know, nobody else in my family has a similar trait.

It is not always the case that someone will in the family so maybe no one else does

Talk with your Doctor or give the BHF Nurses a ring I am sure they will be able to give you some feedback as well as suggestions x
