hi everyone. I am a woman in my early 50s. I had a heart event two weeks ago. I was admitted to hospital where I was discovered to have a fast heartbeat, and also an irregular heartbeat and a blocked artery - following the event I have had a stent in this artery.
I had noticed over the last few months (prior to the heart event) that my teeth were really sensitive, and that I got a lump in my throat from time to time which made it difficult to swallow - I mentioned the teeth to my dentist and he said there is nothing wrong with my teeth. However with hindsight, if I now look on Dr Google both symptoms can be signs of a heart under pressure.
Despite all my new medication and my stent and resting the last two weeks these symptoms persist, both the on and off aching teeth and the on and off lump in the throat.
I still feel like a total beginner at all this, can anyone tell me if they have also experienced this? Is this a heart symptom and if so is it a serious one?

Yes I had that lump in the throat feeling after my event, that obviously coincides with new medication. I have had many tests to find the cause. No cause was found but silent reflux or anxiety was given as potential causes I am sure I don't have reflux but I do know I carry anxiety in my chest and neck.
I have experienced both the symptoms that you are describing when I was heavily pregnant and my heart was under significant strain at the time.
It’s difficult to trust your body after something like a heart event or in my case being diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure.
What I would say is that although you’ve had the stent, that won’t automatically put things back to how they were before and I would encourage you to be patient (easier said than done I know); your heart will need time to recover, just like you do mentally too. Be kind to yourself ❤️
However, I would like to add that I’m not a medical professional and if you are concerned by any of your symptoms then I would urge you to contact your GP - you can’t put a price on peace of mind 🙂
If you feel able to, please let us know how you get on.
