Hello :-)

Nice to see your post :-)

I would see how you go on it should improve :-)

1 pound loss is 1 pound less hopefully that will improve as well :)

Hope the rest of your recovery is going well :-) x

challenging last few days more from probs sleeping and shoulder pain as well as the obvious things but I'm coping with just paracetamol because I've got visual disturbances of a very weird nature and don't want to mess that up even more lol

10 days in keep plodding along

Hello :-)

I know we say this is early days and it is but with each day we are moving forward and what we are feeling now will slowly get better

I think the shoulder pain is something quite a few of us get after because they have are arms stretched upwards which in my case I already have a bad shoulder so after it was even worse so I can imagine the pain but it will improve :-)

Just take each day as it comes some will be better than others but go with it because eventually you will get there but we all take different times in how long that takes :-) x

Thank you dear B

Early but difficult days of readjustment when you get home. Do you use a rolled up towel held firmly to your chest to help with coughing? When you get to go out for a walk put a scarf over your face as the cold air will probably hurt your chest too.

The shoulder pain is a big problem, I don't want to discourage you but I still have it after 11 months 😔, also the visual disturbances which started immediately after my op although everyone is denying any connection, and my vitreous gel has now detached.

You'll get better, it just doesn't seem it at the time - look for a little achievement every day, a do-able and simple one that really doesn't matter if you don't manage it. I used to think of a little aim the night before as I was in bed and then that was my goal for the next day.

All the best xx

i find the mention of visual disturbances interesting - i have been having occasional disturbance since my episode of Takotsubo, these were "labelled" as visual migraine by my optometrist - others in the online support group i belong to have reported these as well - those who had them before now find they have them more frequently

so how is that not connected?????

Interesting - that is what mine have been labelled as too by optometrist and hosp consultant. May I ask what support group you belong to please?

hi

Yes i had the same after a hear bypass. It will ease off it just takes time. I also had fluid on lungs and it took a while to settle. Surgeons underestimate the recovery time. I was surprised how tired i was for months after.

I gained a few pounds with water. It took nearly two weeks to have a sudden dramatic weight loss. In the end I was 21 pounds less than when I was admitted to hospital. I have maintained this for six months so far. Stick with it.
