Hi, I am having mild palpitation very frequently, 2-3 times each day for about 30 minutes to an hour. I am worried about them but I have been informed as there are no other symptoms, I will not be offered treatment. I was diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation in Nov 2023 at hospital A&E, I have attended follow up SDEC and am on medication to lower blood pressure, Biosporol to reduce heart rate and blood thinner. I have also been given hospital appts in Jan 2024 after mid Jan for investigation with 24 hr ECG tracker, heart scan.

Hi there,I’m not really sure what investigations you’ve had, although you have AF ,Palpitations are mainly harmless,as they are just ectopic heart beats,or PVC’s premature ventricular contraction,I get these but for them to be worried ,they would need to be quite a constant occurrence, however they can be very powerful beats and quite alarming at times,I also have bradycardia and stage 1 av heart block,I have a loop recorder fitted,I used to press the activation button, when I had a pvc, they would phone me up and just say it’s just a PVC.Some people get them constantly, and they can weaken the heart muscle, they can give a drug to reduce them in treatment .
